We selected Varietals that would ripen each season with our warm days and cool nights. The Marked Tree selection of grape varietals came from the site’s strengths. The Rocky, Sandy loam soil adds an element of struggle to the vineyard. The slope of the land helps the water drain away from the vineyard in a region known for high rain totals. For optimal flavor, tannins, and sugars, the grape clusters need sun. Seemingly overnight the grapes begin to appear- hidden behind large green foliage. We hedge and hedge the vines, trimming them to the linear shape of the trellis system.
